Kindergarten Age Change Legislation
The age of eligibility for kindergarten entrance in Michigan was changed in Public Acts 198 and 199 of 2012. The change will be phased in over three years. In fall of 2013, children will need to be 5 on or before November 1 to be eligible for kindergarten. In fall of 2014, they will need to be 5 on or before October 1 and in fall of 2015 and thereafter, they will need to be 5 on or before September 1 to be eligible for kindergarten.

Parents With Questions or concerns about the Hazel Park Promise Zone are encouraged to attend the next meeting of the Hazel Park Promise Zone Board. They will meet at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26th at the Board Office.
