UNITED OAKS ANNUAL REPORT

Our Mission:
The mission of United Oaks Elementary School, in partnership with the community, is to inspire the development of responsible, caring, productive lifelong learners in a changing world by providing a safe and nurturing environment.
Parent Involvement:
It shall be the policy of the Hazel Park School Board to encourage substantive, ongoing parental involvement in the education of children in the school district through such matters as - by way of illustration and not limitation - parent-teacher conferences, open houses, volunteering, chaperoning, school performances, musical programs, athletic events, school improvement teams, Parent Teacher Associations, study committees, student exhibits, home visits, school activities and other noteworthy school-related happenings. 

PTA - MARKET DAY

Our PTA will be doing Market Day once again during the 2012-13 school year. Orders are due, to the school, the Friday before the following delivery dates, or online orders are due the Saturday before the following delivery
dates. Delivery is from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. in the United Oaks gym.

2012-2013 United Oaks School Supplies List

Kindergarten

  • Package of 12 broad colored markers to be shared by the class. (Crayola brand)
  • 2 boxes of 48 crayons (Crayola brand)
  • 4 Fluorescent Hi-Lighters (any color)
  • 2 Dry Erase Markers (any color except yellow.)
  • 1 container instant hand sanitizer (8 oz.)
  • 1 container of Clorox disinfectant wipes
  • 20 Glue Sticks (Elmer's "disappearing purple" preferred)
  • 1 full size box of Tissues
  • 12 pencils to be shared by the class
  • 1 Supply box, no larger than 9x6 (without handles)
  • 1 Backpack with your child's name on it.
  • An extra change of clothes (to be left in the backpack every day.)
  • A small snack each day, no drinks please

1st Grade

  • 24 count crayons
  • Glue sticks (as many as possible)
  • Pencils Ticonderoga preferred
  • 1 Composition Notebook
  • 2 Spiral notebooks
  • 2 duo-tang folders
  • 2 boxes of tissue
  • Zip lock bags any size
  • Plastic supply kit
  • 1 pair of scissors
  • Pink erasers (as many as possible)
  • 1 pack erasable pens any color
  • Disinfectant wipes

2nd Grade

  • 1 backpack
  • 1 supply box
  • Packs of plain pencils (Ticonderoga brand sharpens much better than other brands.
  • Many brands end up getting wasted away during sharpening - you would be amazed at how much waste)
  • 1 pack of 16 or 24 crayons
  • 2 glue sticks (no liquid glue please)
  • 1 highlighter
  • 1 pack Large EXPO dry erase markers
  • 1 small, clean sock
  • 1 Writer's Notebook
  • 1 Composition book (Black and White type but any color is fine)
  • Facial tissue
  • Large pink erasers
  • Pencil eraser toppers
  • 8 1/2" x 11" copy paper in any color
  • Hand Sanitizer

3rd Grade

  • Pencil case
  • 24 No. 2 pencils
  • Colored pencils
  • Crayons (box of 24)
  • Scissors
  • 2 pads of sticky notes
  • 1 folder with pockets for homework
  • 6 black dry erase markers
  • 1 dry erase eraser
  • 2 spiral notebooks (70 count wide rule)
  • 2 composition notebooks (black and white)
  • Quart or gallon Ziploc bags
  • Antibacterial surface wipes
  • Box of tissues
  • Bottle of hand sanitizer
  • Soft backpack

4th Grade

  • 3 Poly (Vinyl) 2 Pocket/3 Prong Folders (Different Colors)
  • 2 Packages of #2 Pencils
  • Hand Held Pencil Sharpener

  • Box of Crayons (No More than 24)
  • Box of Colored Pencils (No More than 24)

  • 1 Composition Note (Black/White Cover: 9' 3/4 x 7' 1/2)
  • Large Eraser or Pencil Top Erasers

  • 3 Spiral Notebooks (70 Sheet, Wide Ruled)
  • 1 Package of Lined Paper (Wide Ruled)
